First Concept Project

Final version of my first concept project. The goal was to create two combatants through exploration silhouette, value, and then color. I had trouble with it at first because I tried to create a complex story. The decision was made to keep it simple.

As for how things are going with starting school again I think I am finally getting my sea legs and not freaking out as much. Still suck on the story side of sequential. I hope the concepts of creating a good story sinks into my thick skull in time. Just like drawing its all about practice and applying the material. Wish me luck!

Trying to get back into going to life drawing sessions. I can't wait for it to warm up and I can go to the park and draw people!

Some advice I would like to share that Phil Young told me awhile back that has helped me a lot:

Always work on your own stuff outside of work.

This is great advice because you might find yourself not being challenged enough at work. So take matters in your own hands. Work on your own art for an hour or two a day. Make sure you have fun and have ENTHUSIASM. Learned that from Walt Stanchfields book Drawn to Life in lesson 1.

OK off to work. Remember to keep being creative.

I knew I should have listened to my gut when I first started drawing this out and left the background people out. I was trying to hard to force them in. So thankfully there is Photoshop for edits and I was able to fix it. Need to listen to my wise gut more often.
